The Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI) focuses on the economic and community development of Greater Grand Crossing and the Southeast Region of our city. The HCI will highlight major components of a healthy community: economics, political, organizational, cultural and social.
Three socially responsible economic programs sponsored by BERA:
-
The Mentoring, After School and Student Support program - will introduce youth to entrepreneurship principles and see them in action in the community; prepare and guide youth in collecting data about their community; and, facilitate their development of their community for the future. This program is in partnership with the Natalie P. Voorhees Center-University of Illinois.

BERA will partner with a local agency - to provide ex-offenders with support and resource development.

BERA'S GREEN LIVING program - will present to the community how to save money, help save the environment, improve health and eliminate stress, enhance the quality of life and contribute to BERA.
